Finanzmarktaufsicht und WU Wien bringen Finanzinformationen in den Schulunterricht: „Finanzbildung ist Lebensbildung“
The FMA and the Competence Centre for Financial Education of WU Wien presented their joint initiative to bring financial topics into school lessons at the 3rd Financial Education Breakfast, with a focus on protection against investment fraud. The press release describes teaching materials, an Instagram video format and about 12,000 pupils reached in three years, and is aimed at the general public and schools rather than supervised entities.
The FMA warns against business with the provider "AI App", which operates under three listed websites. The FMA states that the provider has no authorisation to carry out licensable securities transactions in Austria, including executing orders on behalf of clients under the Securities Supervision Act 2018, and warns of confusion with supervised foreign providers. The FMA imposed a fine of EUR 122,400 on HYPO-BANK BURGENLAND Aktiengesellschaft for breaches of the Standesregeln für Versicherungsvermittlung, following an accelerated procedure under § 22 para 2b FMABG. The findings concern late disclosure of information to customers before the declaration of contract, failure to obtain information on customers' knowledge, experience and financial situation, and a marketing communication that was not always fair, clear and non-misleading. The decision is final.

The FMA published a sanction notice against Senta Tech Limited Liability Company (ULTIMA), Tbilisi, Georgia, operating ultima.io and utrading.com. By decision of 31.07.2026 the company was ordered to cease unlicensed commercial discretionary portfolio management on an individual client basis where the portfolio includes one or more crypto-assets, under § 11 Z 3 MiCA-VVG in conjunction with Art. 59 para. 1 and Art. 3 para. 1 no. 16 lit. i MiCAR.
